Well seeing as this is my first journal entry, I might as well introduce myself. I am Jon Davenport, however the Avatar fandom probably knows me better as "Snake of the South". I am a site/forum admin of the Avatar fansite,
[link] as well as a co-host of an Avatar podcast called "PortalCast". I truly love Avatar: The Last Airbender. It's such a fun universe to draw and write up stories in. Not to mention that the show is just utterly amazing. It's a shame we have to wait until July 14th for Avatar to return to television on the United States Nickelodeon branch.
Anyway, as some of you Avatar fans out there may know, I attended the New York Comic Con this past weekend with my good friend, Collin/FTW. We were there recording/live streaming the Avatar-y parts of the convention. Waiting in line on Saturday for the finale panel was actually amazing fun. So many nice people and very awesome costumes. The only downside is that Collin and I didn't get to record Saturday's Avatar panel. A lady came up to us and told us we couldn't. However, everyone and their mother was recording. Oh well. The good news is that Collin and I managed to score interviews with Kevin Coppa/the puppet guy from Friday's panel, Johane Matte/Rufftoon, and of course, Mike and Bryan. All four of them were really nice and great people. I got to shake hands with Mike and Bryan after that interview as well as get their autographs on a couple of posters. The Nick people even made the compliment that me and Collin looked very professional and were pretty much not noob-sauce at this stuff. Truly a great day as well as a great weekend. However, all good things come to an end and I had to sadly leave the convention eventually. I wish I could relive that weekend over and over again.
Anyway, I'm an artist and writer. The only thing is, I'm kinda bad about keeping a constant schedule when it comes to that stuff. I tend to do better with keeping up with writing rather than drawing. So I'll do my best to keep this updated and stuff.
P.S. if any of you managed to find me on here, kudos to you.
